Signs of Water Damage in Your Home
5/7/2020 (Permalink)
Water damage can occur to your home during any season. During the warmer months, however, it can be more serious because it can begin to grow mold. The biggest problem with water damage in your home is that you cannot normally see the extent of the damage. Most water damage begins deep in the walls of your home and can lead to structural damage and health problems if not taken care of quickly.
Some types of mold can cause serious, even lethal, health problems. Not only is mold very dangerous to your health, but it can become costly to fix. It is important that you are able to recognize the signs of water damage so you can treat it before it gets too serious.
Signs that your home has water damage:
- Wet spots, drips, or puddles around pipes, sinks, toilets, taps, etc.
- Dark or wet spots on the ceiling or walls.
- Drywall that is flaking or cracking.
- A sudden increase in utility bills, resulting from a hidden leak.
- A damp, musty, or moldy smell that suddenly appears.
